Hello Everyone and Happy New Year. This email is going to be straight to the point. I am sorry it isn’t as pretty as the last few, but time constraints won’t allow for that this time. For those of you that haven’t heard, Zoe’s has been sold. January will be our last full month of weekly shows for a while. If you have been meaning to get to a show, but just haven’t gotten around to it, this might be your last chance for a while. Jim and Rita are hoping to open a new restaurant either in Easthampton or Northampton and have said they would like us back if they have the space in the new location. We will be looking for a new venue for weekly shows, but there is no telling how long that will take. We are definitely not closing shop. We are still booking private parties and fundraising shows.
The show that will be running through January and February is called “Deadly Chateau Chenanigans”.Now you are probably wondering why I said through February if Zoe’s is closing at the end of January. That is because we will still be doing the show on the 3rd Thursday of February, or February 21st at Butternut’s on Rte 9 in Hadley.
The show is about Zsa Zsa Grabmore and her murder mystery party. She has a chateau in Southern France that she bought with money that she got from the passing of her 12 husbands. No one can prove that she was behind their demises, but there are 3 detectives that came very close and she would like revenge, so she is throwing a murder mystery party at her Chateau and she has invited the three there. They are Mrs. Fetcher, Inspector Cousteau and Detective Codumbo. She wants to show that she is once and for all, much smarter than any of them. The final character in the story is Sue Flay. How could you possibly have a French show without a French Maid. She has worked for Zsa Zsa for years and is the only person that Zsa Zsa even remotely trusts and she doesn’t really trust her. To Zsa Zsa, this is just one big game, but it turns real when she is murdered for real, well for plot purposes. Please come and join The Comical Mystery Tour on an adventure across the seas. (Well, not really, but you know what I mean).
We will be performing every Tuesday at Zoe’s in Easthampton through January. The price is just $35.00 inclusive. You would be hard pressed to go to a movie and dinner for that price and you don’t have to drive between the two. If you have never tried Zoe’s, this might be your final chance for quite a while. Believe me, it is worth the trip.
We will also be doing a fundraising show in Greenfield on the 26th of January at Saint James Church. This is a fund raiser for the French club at Greenfield High School. The tickets are just $20.00 and you can call 772-2213 for tickets or more information. Seating will be between 5:30-5:50 with salad and mingle starting at 6:00.
On February 2nd we will be performing at the Kamaloht Banquet facility in Templeton MA. This will be our second year there for a fund raiser for Cub Scout Pack 39 from Phillipston. $30 per person, call 978-939-4274 or just mail check made out to Pack 39 to Christine Bennett, Treasurer,
So far, our final show for February will be the 21st at Buternut’s on Rte 9 in Hadley MA.
Tickets are $35.00 inclusive and you can call 413 583 0234 for reservations.
We are looking for new venues, so if you know of a place that would like to talk with us, especially in the Springfield, Chicopee, Holyoke areas or Orange, Gardner, Fitchburg, or Westminster areas, please let us know or pass along our contact information so that we can discuss possibilities. Just in case you never thought of it, we do a lot of shows for Elks, Moose, Kiwanis, Rotary, Lions and Masons organizations. We do both fundraisers and social events for them. If you belong to any fraternal or other organization that needs to come up with new and unusual fund raisers, we might be that option that you are looking for. We are also interested in finding new actors for future shows, once we get some new venues on line. If you are interested, please feel free to either email or call.
We wish you all the happiest of New Years and we will be stronger for what we are going through now. We don’t plan on stopping at any point in the near future. We have been performing for the last 11 years and we hope to keep going for at least that many more.
Thank you very much for your support and especially laughter over the years. Keep us in your thoughts and spread the word about what we do. We will let everyone know as soon as we know, where we will be performing on a regular basis again. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us about private parties and fund raising shows and you will still be able to see us at least once every other month at that fabulous restaurant known as Butternut’s. We hope to see you at one of our shows.
Thanks again,
Ken Adams
